Leashes
The wing leash connects the wing to your wrist or waist; the board leash connects the board to your ankle or calf. If you fall, they stop you losing your gear and having to swim after it.
Inflation
The wing is inflated to a precise pressure stated by the manufacturer. A pump with a pressure gauge makes it easy to get right. For an inflatable board, an electric pump saves time.
Protection
A helmet and buoyancy aid are recommended, especially when learning to foil. A wetsuit suited to the water temperature lets you stay out longer.
Transport and storage
